Dr. Khalid Al-Assaf is the Managing Director of the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Development Center (Estidamah). He plays a vital role in establishing, leading and directing the effective and efficient management of a new national agricultural research and technology development center. He drives, leads and oversees the prospect and research function, supervise the research staff and works closely with the ministry of environment, water, and agriculture as a partner in helping to achieve their strategic goals and objectives. Prior to Estidamah, he was the KSA director for analytical technology under technology and innovation, SABIC, supporting the development of various SABIC technology in plastic, chemicals, fertilizers and metals businesses.
Khalid holds a Masters degree in Chemistry from both the King Saud University and University of Massachusetts as well as a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts. He has a total of 24 years’ experience in Research and Leadership roles in Technology and Innovation at SABIC.
