Eng. Salim Al Aufi has a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University. He joined Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in 1992 and progressed within the organization in different technical and leadership roles, which culminated in him becoming the Oil North Director in 2010.
In his career spanning well over 20 years, Salim held different local and international positions, including PDO’s Head of Corporate Planning, Chief Petroleum Engineering and Operation Manager.
During his tenure in PDO, Salim was posted to Shell Nigeria as Petroleum Engineer and Asset Planner, and also to Shell Canada as the VP of Production.
In May 2012, His Majesty appointed Salim as the CEO of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation and in December 2013, Salim was appointed as the Undersecretary for the Ministry of Oil and Gas in Oman.
As the Undersecretary of Ministry of Oil and Gas, Salim manages the exploration and production activities in the Sultanate of Oman.
